LACTATION CONSULTING

"Breastfeeding is natural, but its not natural like breathing.  Something we can do without effort or thought.  Rather it is natural like walking, a skill we need to learn, and something that we need help, support, and guidance with in the early days."

 - Megan Felling

Lactation is a natural extension of pregnancy and birth; and it is the phase of the perinatal year that is often overlooked.  Labor and birth are a momentous occasion, but in the grand scheme of things, it lasts a day or two for most people; whereas lactation can go on for two years or more!

Together, we can create a personalized care plan to help you reach your breast/chest feeding goals.

Certified lactation consultants are allied healthcare providers who specialize in the support, education, and guidance of lactating families. I have experience supporting families with a variety of challenges including multiples, pain with latch, over supply, under supply, and plugged ducts to name a few.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

My goal as a care provider is to be accessible and a community resource.  I do not accept insurance for lactation services at this time. For clients that pay in full I provide you with an invoice to send to your insurance company for reimbursement (no guarantees). I offer sliding scale discounts and accept barter for a portion of my services.  Current barter interests include childcare, organic food, garden help and supplies, home improvement, and small business guidance.  Please consider paying the full fee so others can benefit from discounted services and I can sustain my business if you:  own your home, health insurance covers most of your health care costs, are fully employed or able to choose to work part time, have assets that will, or currently, contribute to financial security.
